Let’s face it, during busy season, many accountants don’t have time to watch “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” or to catch re-runs of “The Office.” But you can still get a few laughs throughout the day by following some of these amusing accounting types on Twitter. Some have given special emphasis to the humor of #busyseason, but others are entertaining throughout the year.

Here are some good Twitter users to follow for a little accounting humor (and no, that’s not an oxymoron):

Public Accounting (@stuffpubacctsay): This Twitter user says he or she typically quips about the “thrills and downhills of being a public accountant,” and posts have included:

Going Concern (@going_concern), the Twitter account for the website of the same name that has gems like “The Ten Stages of Busy Season,” also Tweets entertaining news and pithy comments about the accounting industry.

Accounting Problems (@cpa_problems) shares a mix of sarcastic comments and Tweets on real-life issues accountants face, such as this one:

Then there are the Twitterers who share the accountant pick-up lines, puns and jokes about busy season. These include Accounting Humor (@AccountantHumor) and Let’s Get Fiscal (@Lets_Get_Fiscal), who claims to compile “lame accounting jokes all in one place for your convenience.”
